This meeting is a great opportunity for those who operate jails and prisons in North America to learn and network with others. To register for the conference click on the NAAWS web page.
RKV has been awarded implementation of SIDES at the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations (DOLIR). SIDES was developed by a third party vendor and includes an Employer website, SEW (SIDES Employer Website) which allows employers to submit separation information electronically.
The goal of this project is to adopt the methodology, standards, and data interfaces with the Unemployment Insurance (UI) State Information Data Exchange System (SIDES) in order to better process claims for unemployment insurance and separation data.
SIDES currently provides a method for states, and employers or Third Party Administrators (TPAs) to improve timeliness, accuracy and reduce costs by creating an electronic exchange of information using a standardized, secure mechanism with data validations that are strictly enforced to prevent the transfer of incomplete or incorrectly formatted data.
The results of this project will be improved timeliness by obtaining employer separation information faster, improved quality because of standardized questions and in some cases a more detailed request for separation information, reduced costs currently involved with exchanging data, improved completeness and accuracy of information and reducing the number of improper benefit payments and appeals reversals, dramatically reduced number of “call backs” to the employer for clarification and additional information, saving staff resources and reduced time spent on fact-finding interviews as the detailed employer information is submitted electronically.
The RKV Team working at the MO Department of Social Services (DSS) completed a maintenance project on the Family and Children’s Electronic System (FACES). FACES provides child welfare staff with an automated tool that reduces paper processes, redundant data entry, manual processes, and many other time consuming administrative processes.
The Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) – Division of Energy awarded to RKV the phase II work for the MoWAP project. Missouri Weatherization Assistance Program (MoWAP) will help determine how grant monies are distributed to low-income families to weatherize their homes. To qualify for assistance a client must prove their income to a third party provider. This provider inspects the home and determines their weatherization needs. The provider addresses these issues and invoices DNR to be reimbursed. DNR staff review these invoices and approve payment through SAM II.
It is an exciting time for RKV as we announce that we were one of ten vendors selected by the State of Missouri Office of Administration – Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) for the State’s list of qualified providers. We will be responding to Project Assessment Quotations (PAQs) for IT services from agencies all over the State. We also note that our proposal was ranked #1 by the evaluation team. We look forward to continuing this particularly rewarding relationship with our home state’s government agencies.
In October RKV concluded a series of enhancements for the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS) with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which is Missouri’s Food Stamp Program to raising the levels of nutrition among low-income households. Many thanks to the team for this successful conclusion.
RKV will be exhibiting at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Training Conference to be held Nov 8–11 in Myrtle Beach. Kathy Burris, RKV’s Principal Corrections Specialist, will be available at the booth to discuss the latest in IT to support the corrections industry. On October 11, 2011, the RKV Team working at the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) observed the completion of its project to develop an enhancement for the Teacher Licensure system with a luncheon.
DESE’s Teacher Licensure system facilitates the certification process for individuals seeking licenses to teach in Missouri schools, automating the processing of 16 different applications and issues the corresponding certificates for educators, student services personnel, and administrators. The system also provides a means of tracking the fingerprinting and discipline of Missouri school personnel.
