The Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations is improving their current Assessment process and bringing more automation to the department.

The current Assessment application for DOLIR was originally developed in the late 1970-80’s.  The application required DOLIR Collection Department technicians to manually search for basic data from a number of different state sources, including:  the Secretary of State, the Department of Revenue Driver License; DOLIR;  and others.  Basic information included name, current address for employers, officer, and members delinquent in their Unemployment Insurance tax.  Significant time was spent conducting searches and transcribing the data to Assessment CICS screens to create or update an assessment.  This project automated these basic information searches and assessment up-dates.

The Automated Assessment project also eliminates manual progress notes through the development of  “Blue Sheets”, which track the assessment’s creation, associated mailings, lien filings, garnishments, payment plans, intercepts, bankruptcy, or other relevant information to satisfy the assessment.

The result of deployment of this project significantly increased the capacity of DOLIR to collect delinquent unemployment taxes, saving the department time and resources, and improving work environment for its employees.
